Una Sinnott

Well hello there, my name is Una Sinnott and I’m afraid I’m responsible for whatever made you want to click the ‘about’ page. I’m a journalist based in Galway, Ireland, and this is what I do in my spare time.

Republic Interest is still quite new and it’s a bit sparse looking, but I like to think of it as a little seed of a site that will eventually grow into something great – a collaborative site that will allow me to work with readers to develop an open news agenda for Ireland.

If you have any interest in news, science, technology, health, the environment, data or social media, you can get involved in whatever way you want. For example, you could let me know about something you have created or found online that you think would be interesting to feature, or a story that deserves more coverage that it is getting, or a pubic data set that you feel is worth investigating.

If you spot something interesting on social media, you can tweet me the details. Or you can email me to say hello, and offer your thoughts on what you would like from a news site, and what you feel news organisations in general are doing right or doing wrong. I’d love to hear from you.

The main day for updates around here is Friday, with some updates on weekday evenings.
