Google Doodle celebrates Rorschach inkblot test

Ink blot Google doodleToday’s Google doodle marks the 129th anniversary of the birth of Hermann Rorshach, the Swiss psychiatrist and psychoanalyst best known as the creator of the Rorschach inkblot test.

Rorschach was born in Zurich on November 8 1884 and began using inkblots as an psychoanalytic tool while studying medicine.

In the test, subjects are asked to view a series of 10 inkblots and interpret what they see; this information is then used to provide insights on the subject’s personality and cognitive function.

Today’s interactive doodle invites people to explore a series of inkblots and share their interpretations on social media.
